Description

Actually the file size that is allowed for upload on DMSF is limited to 5 GB, which prevents me to post a 8 GB file.

Would it be possible to increase the file size limit (I'd suggest 20 GB to have some headroom for the future)?

There are 2 problems uploading files bigger than 5Gb:
  • transfer process and duration through HTTP is hazardous
  • we haven't thought the forge service as a storage service

What kind of data do you intend storing and sharing ?

Simply documents.

8Gb documents are not "simple" documents to me :) Documents are basically made of text and embedded material (images, video). You could for instance extract and reference data out of the document.

Maybe, but I have a document that I have to upload to the CTA site and that makes 8 GB.

Then I guess your best option is to reference it on the CTA site, and store it elsewhere.

I recognize that I meant in fact MB, not GB. I'm struggling uploading a 8 MB file.

I get

HTTP Error.
Upload URL might be wrong or doesn't exist
